The new computers in the ELS classrooms now allow for greater differentiation. In the example below, while the ESL extended students were doing a 'traditional' listening test, the three core students were able to do their test on the computers, thereby doing away with the need for separate classrooms and an extra teacher.

The ELS department uses Quizlet, an online resource, to help students with vocabulary acquisition. Not only do students acquire new and reinforce existing vocabulary, but they do it in a fun way. The photos below show the Year 10 ESL class having a lot of using Quizlet. And well done to Pim for getting the highest score in 'Gravity'. She was presented with a box of Belgian chocolates.

The ELS classrooms have been transformed into blended learning zones. Three extra computers now allow teachers to blend both traditional face-to-face learning with online learning. The picture below shows Mr Whittle and the Year 9 KET students working hard in this new learning environment.
